Our History

Inland Marine has been a family owned business in Glocester, RI since 1975. It was founded by Russell and Ruth Lemieux. Upon their retirement, Russell Jr., Richard, Ross and Randy had taken over the helm. Patrick Healy was hired in 2002 to help in the service department.  Under Ricky & Russells' tutelage along with Yamaha training, Pat has become our main master mechanic.

Their success had been made possible through the patronage of long time customers and their children.. Referrals to friends and family created a solid foundation. A common phrase heard at the shop was, "Our customer's are the best form of advertisement!"

In 2002, Jeannie Lemieux (Ross' wife) came on board to help in the office allowing Ruth to retire.  Ashley Gonyea (Richard's daughter) joined the office team in 2017 and has been a great asset ever since.

The wind had been taken out of the Lemieux's sail three times over in the coarse of eight years.  Hitting all three generations all of who worked at Inland Marine.  First was the loss of Mark Lemieux, Richard's son and our mechanic while riding his motorcycle. A few years later, Russell Sr. passed from Parkinson's. Shortly thereafter, Richard was also taken in another motorcycle accident.  It was just too much.  

So, after 47 years the 3 remaining brother's decided it was time to sell.  Thankfully, the business was purchased in September 2022 and continues to thrive under the ownership of Colby Petrillo.
